Sweet Moments

Sweet Moments

I thank God for all the sweet moments
Times that made me laugh, smile, or even cry
I wish I could put them all in one big bottle
so I can re-live each one over and over again:

There’s my first kiss – his name was Pat

The overwhelming beauty of the cliffs by the ocean

The serene, peaceful silence of falling snow
Holding my newborn son in my arms for the first time;
The first time he gazed into my eyes

The smell of freshly cut grass

Seeing a father holding his young daughter’s hand at the bus stop

The majestic colors of a butterfly

Hearing my son say, “I love you mom”

The freedom I felt when I bought my first car

Having dinner with a girlfriend I haven’t seen in years

Finding my first gray hair

The restful feeling after a perfect night’s sleep

An elderly couple on a stroll, holding hands

Rainbows, and sunrays peering through the clouds

A candle-lit, hot bubble bath

Hearing the perfect song at just the right moment

Finishing a really good book

Hearing a word or phrase that resonates

The completion of another poem
